Each year as part of the event we stage a 15s Charity Match as a curtain raiser to the tournament on the Friday Night. This will be an Invitational XV vs a Wooden Spoon Select and Invitational XV.

About FB7s

The Fat Blokes Sevens is organised by Abbey Rugby Football Club. We are a group of highly trained athletes with a love of rugby and surreal humour. Abbey RFC are affiliated to Berkshire RFU.

We aim to benefit other charities during the course of the event - this means organising or taking part in group activities which will be fun for those taking part and beneficial to the selected charities.

The Fat Bloke Sevens, is a unique tournament for those who'd like to play sevens but aren't of the body type or fitness usually associated with the game... this is a FUN tournament and although we structure leagues to cater for all abilities we would remind you that this is not a "serious" 7s tournament.

What's On

Friday
  • - Bar open from 1pm for campsite arrivals.
  • - Friday evening mixed ability game - 6pm KO.
  • - Friday evening charity game - 7.45pm KO.
  • - We have a LIVE band Friday night in the clubhouse - The Salty Dogs circa 9.45pm
  • - Evening food provided by Hangry Bear
Saturday
  • - We have Saturday morning breakfast rolls available from 8.00am at the BBQ.
  • - There will be fresh coffee being served from Anonymous Coffee Co. from early Saturday AM.
  • - There will be an ice cream van available all day.
  • - Rugby kicks off at 9.00am on Saturday (briefing 8.30am).
  • - Huge BBQ all afternoon Saturday from 11am.
  • - Boozy Bingo Game in the Marquee circa 8.15pm
  • - Evening food provided by The Hangry Bear
  • - We've a LIVE BAND Saturday night in the clubhouse - Angel and the Bad Men circa 9.45pm
Sunday
  • - Sunday full breakfast will be available from 8.30am in the Clubhouse.
  • - There will be fresh coffee being served from Anonymous Coffee Co. from early Saturday AM

Team Entrance

Entrance for 2025 is priced at £170 for both men's and ladies' - this is payable via the PayPal link below and available on a first come first serve basis. Please note that we CANNOT issue any team entry refunds within two months of the event taking place. Also, in the event of hard unplayable ground, the tournament may have to be changed to touch without notice, and refunds cannot be given should this be the case.

General Admission & Camping

This year we are again operating a wristband entry to include general admission and camping (regardless if you camp or not) at the price of £10 per person per day (therefore if you arrive Friday and leave Sunday that would be £20, if you arrive Saturday and leave Sunday that would be £10) - CASH ONLY FOR WRISTBAND ENTRY! Under 16s accompanying a paying adult are free. This is to be paid in CASH on the day in exchange for a wristband and entry. There are some important things to note:

When entering a team, it is essential you advise on how many tents you are expecting - this way we can allocate pitches in team blocks. If you have a large tent or a camper van, please inform us ASAP and include the team you are with.

SELECTION OF PREFERRED LEVEL IS ONLY A GUIDE AND IS NOT FINAL. PLEASE BE HONEST, THIS IS NOT AN ELITE TOURNAMENT.

IMPORTANT NOTES

• Lateness to games will incur a 5 point penalty per minute - be on time!
• Dogs allowed but must be kept on a lead and all mess cleared up.
• STRICTLY no PAs or Sound Systems in the campsite past 11.00pm
• No excessive volumes of alchohol to be brought onto the site.
• Please refrain from using disposable BBQs and Chinese lanterns.
• Please be honest about your playing level.
